Do UK citizens need a visa to visit Dubai?
No. Full British Citizen passport holders get a free visa on arrival at any UAE airport. There is no form to fill in, no fee to pay, and no approval to wait for. You land, present your passport at immigration, get your entry stamp, and walk through. The stamp is valid across all seven emirates, so you can travel anywhere in the UAE on it.
This covers tourism, holidays, family visits, business meetings and stopovers. The one thing it does not cover is paid work, which needs a proper work visa. If you hold a British National (Overseas) or British Overseas Territories passport rather than a standard British Citizen one, check your eligibility separately, as the rules can differ.

Do I need to apply online before flying to Dubai?
No. As a UK passport holder you do not apply in advance for a short visit. You only apply online if you want a longer 60 or 90-day visa or the 5-year multiple-entry visa.
How long does it take to get through Dubai immigration?
Usually ten to twenty-five minutes in the standard tourist queues. During peak holiday periods, allow a little longer, up to 45 minutes to an hour.
Can I work in Dubai on a visit visa?
No. A visit visa is for tourism, family visits, business meetings and transit only. Paid work requires an employment visa sponsored by a UAE employer, or a freelance visa.
Can I convert a visit visa to a residence visa?
Often yes. If you decide to stay and take a job, set up a business or invest, you can usually change status in-country without flying out. We handle that conversion for clients.
What is the 5-year Dubai tourist visa?
It is a multiple-entry visa for frequent visitors, allowing unlimited entries with stays of up to 90 days at a time. It suits people who visit the UAE often but are not relocating.
What passport validity do I need?
At least six months from your date of arrival. Airlines can deny boarding and immigration can refuse entry if your passport has less than six months left, so check before you book.
What happens if I overstay my Dubai visit visa?
You are fined for each day you overstay, at around AED 50 a day from the first day. Overstaying by more than 30 days can also mean an exit permit at the airport, so track your dates carefully.
